Genna Herman
My name is Genna Herman and I am currently a fourth-year student at the University of Dayton. I am working towards a degree in History as well as a minor in English and Military Science. On campus, I am involved with ROTC and will be a US Army Reserve officer following graduation. In addition to ROTC, I participate in Pershing Rifles, a military based co-ed fraternity focused on community outreach and leadership skills.
When I am not at school, I reside in Nashville, TN with my mom and my dog. I have two older brothers I see frequently as well. I visit Chicago often to see my dad, and I also visit Milwaukee several times a year to see my extended family. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and canoeing. I am also an avid fan of the NBA as well as University of Tennessee basketball. I love to spend time with family and friends whenever possible.

Family trip to Malaga, Spain, in the summer of 2019.
For this project, I researched and wrote about the official government and military response to the pandemic in Dayton, OH. During my time working on this project, our class utilized the archives of several different organizations to find primary sources that furthered our topics. Throughout this course, I have learned more about Dayton history than I imagined I would, which has been my favorite aspect. For my future career, I would like to be involved in writing and possibly marketing, as I currently work part-time for a business-consultant.
